A really smart man once said...

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
-Albert Einstein

I am sure you have heard this quote.. and undoubtedly.. it was probably in some form of one of those mildly funny pictures on facebook..with the black border, with some reaally small font underneath. (i should also add.. the content of the picture..is most likely a small fuzzy creature, a realistic photoshop job, or a half naked man.)    The concept has been thrown around throughout the decades and serves as the punch line of "dumb blonde jokes"... or better put: insane blonde jokes.

Now this is where I ask you... "What degree of insanity do you suffer from?" ..

I will let you all in on a little secret. ..
In my case, I will call insanity.. ignorance. Ignorant of the fact that my skin in not impervious to fire or stupidly hot things.
I heat my home with a beast of a woodstove from 1918.
Each and everyday, I try to open the door, fiddle with the damper, and chuck 20lb chunks of wood into this thing.. all the while.. bare handed.

so.. needless to say ... I burn myself.          .....  And i end up yelling very awful things at the wood.

Baking in the oven. Common sense. Wear an oven mit! me? oh heck no. why?? Save time!! the quicker you reach in and grab that pan, the cooler it will be!

I'm yelling obscenities at muffins.

Today.

It seemed like a good day to burn incense. So I light a wooden kitchen match.. before I know it, it burnt down and burned my hand (no big deal) But its the molten lava red tip that I DIVE for...before it hits the vinyl floor. ..

Thought process goes like this:
I caught it!!!........ woohoo!!........... OH NO. HOLY MATCH OF GOD!! ..dont drop it dont drop it..the vinyl! .... brilliant idea! spit!! spit!! yes!! .....AHHHhhh the relief!

So. ....
now I am standing there. looking down in silence at my hand. ..... I am holding a shriveled up black charred match...with a palm full of my own spit.

Insanity.
